This Privacy Policy explains what ProteinText collects, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Information we collect
- Your phone number and email address.
- Messages you send to ProteinText, including food descriptions, corrections, and meal photos.
- Your subscription status and related billing status. ProteinText does not store full payment-card details.
- Consent records, including the consent language accepted, timestamp, IP address, and user agent.
- Service information needed to operate and protect the service, such as message timestamps and delivery status.
How we use information
We use your information to provide and operate ProteinText: to record your signup and consent, estimate protein from the information you provide, calculate running totals, respond to your messages, send scheduled check-ins, administer subscriptions, provide support, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.
Service providers
We use service providers that process information on our behalf to operate ProteinText. These include Twilio for message delivery, Stripe for payment processing, and Google for AI-based food estimation. Cloudflare hosts this website and stores signup consent records. These providers may process only the information needed to perform their services for us and are subject to their own security and privacy obligations.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections. We do not permit third parties to use your phone number or personal information for their own marketing.
Data retention
We retain account, message, photo, and subscription information for as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, and security obligations. Retention periods may vary by data type.
Consent records are retained as durable proof of when and how messaging consent was provided. These compliance records are not deleted when other service data is deleted, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Deletion requests
You may request deletion of eligible personal information by emailing [email protected]. Include the phone number and email address associated with your account so we can verify and process the request. We will delete or de-identify eligible data unless retention is required for legal, fraud-prevention, security, billing, or compliance purposes.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
ProteinText is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
